A weekly blog about relationships, belief, and personal growth, written from a position of hope.
“Tell me everything you know.” I said this to my mom often as a child. I was, I am, passionately curious. Now it’s my turn to tell you everything I know. I believe there is meaning in all experiences, and I aim to glean some of the richness from the life I’ve been given.
In regards to the Gospel, David Platt once asked the simple question, “Will it stop in me or spread through me?” This question should be asked in all facets of truth and learning, so here is the underlying purpose of this blog:
I am passionately curious, I want to learn, and I don’t want it to stop in me.
Like anything that survives, this blog will evolve. At its core, though, you can expect topics that fall where faith and leadership thread their way into my daily life.
Like any good blogger, I couldn’t make it through one post without a list:
Step 1: Sign up for the newsletter. Too often “newsletter” is synonymous with “spam list." I assure you, my newsletter will only be for those who opt-in and will always be brief.
Step 2: Provide feedback. Your ideas and pieces of your story in the comments section are encouraged. Dialogue is better than monologue.
Step 3: Become an investor. Just kidding, but a kind mention to your social media outlets would be deeply appreciated. For example: "hey, @chasebutler has a new blog at chasebutlerblog.com - go find out if it's dumb or not." Easy enough, right?
I'll typically end each post with a question or challenge, so for this week:
What is influencing your personal growth the most right now (ex: individual, podcast, blog, book, etc.)?
You haven't missed your calling
From where I sit in this hospital waiting room
Accept the invitation to live
The lighted window
It was worth it
The subtle sounds of a life together
Made for the now-what
When holidays are hard
Sharing in our suffering
To my doubting friend
Ten years down the road
How long, Lord?
A season of doubt
