It's nice to meet you.
Here's a little about me.
My wife, Lacie, and I live in Hoover, AL. If you came over on a Saturday you would meet Theodore Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush. They're furry and look remarkably similar to cats and dogs, but they're our presidential kids.
By day, Lacie is an occupational therapist, and I'm a custom clothier. In a previous life I led worship for church services, camps and retreats. It was an incredible decade of my life, though my creative outlet has shifted more toward writing over the last couple of years.
Which leads me to where I am today.
In December of 2015, chasebutlerblog.com was birthed from a passion to see meaning in all things. To blur the lines between the sacred and the secular. As a child, I was passionately curious. I still am. But what is passionate curiosity if just a cerebral marathon?
I care about progress. Growing. Moving the ball forward and bringing others along with me.
I write about belief, relationships, and personal growth. I aim to answer questions like,
Why do I believe what I believe?
How can I grow in my relationships?
How can I understand the world and others?
What does being a Jesus follower mean in 2017? In the midst of this milieu (fun word for social context)?
You'll find disclaimers scattered throughout my writing. I am NOT a:
-theologian
-historian
-apologist
-pastor
-counselor
-psychologist
-scientist
But I care. A lot.
I've been through seasons of doubt. I've felt the pain of broken relationships. I've seen the yawning gap between who I am and who I want to be. Now I'm committed to intersecting people if and when they arrive there, too.
I hope you'll join the conversation.
